Web Development Project

Web Development

As a design student, I was tasked with creating a series of informative and visually appealing projects. Let me take you through my process and the final results.

For the first project, ‘Welcome to the Logo Creation Page’, my aim was to showcase the evolution of Apple's iconic logo design. I began by taking an in-depth look at the history and origins of Apple as a company. Apple was founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, pioneers of the computer revolution. The company's early years were marked by rapid growth, innovation and the development of iconic products such as the Apple I and Apple II.

As Apple grew, so did the need to establish a strong and recognisable brand identity. The company's first logo, designed by Ronald Wayne, featured an image of Isaac Newton sitting under an apple tree. This was soon replaced by the now-famous chip-apple logo, which has undergone various improvements and updates over the decades.

My aim was to capture this evolution visually, highlighting how the Apple logo has adapted and modernised while retaining its core elements and brand recognition. I began by carefully cataloguing the different logo versions, analysing the design changes and stylistic choices made along the way. I then synthesised this information into a coherent visual narrative, using a clean, minimalist layout to guide the viewer through Apple's brand journey.

The main challenge was to find the right balance between presenting the design elements and providing relevant contextual details about Apple's growth as a company. Through an iterative design process, I refined the layout and visual hierarchy to ensure that the information was presented in a clear and easy-to-follow manner. The end result is a visually striking overview that educates the viewer on the evolution of the Apple brand in the context of the company's remarkable success and influence.

For the Figma Design project, I created a mockup for a website about Multimedia Interaction (MMI).

The main goals were to design an intuitive, visually appealing layout that effectively communicates information about the MMI program and engages prospective students.

I began by researching best practices for educational website design, focusing on elements like clear navigation, compelling imagery, and strategic content organization. I then conducted a thorough analysis of the target audience - high school and college-aged students interested in pursuing studies in multimedia, interaction design, or related fields.

In Figma, I developed a clean, modern aesthetic with a color palette of blues, grays, and accents of purple. The header features a prominent hero image showcasing student work, along with a clear call-to-action to learn more.

The main content areas provide overviews of the MMI curriculum, faculty, facilities, and student outcomes. I utilized a grid-based layout with a mix of text, images, and iconography to make the information easy to scan and digest.

A key feature is the interactive timeline highlighting the program's history and milestones. Users can click through to see details on landmark projects, awards, and technological innovations.

To encourage engagement, I included sections for student testimonials, social media integration, and a contact form for inquiries. Throughout the design, I ensured clear hierarchy, intuitive navigation, and accessibility considerations.

The final Figma mockup serves as a high-fidelity prototype that could be used to gather user feedback and inform the development of the actual MMI website. It showcases my ability to translate complex educational content into a visually compelling, user-friendly digital experience.

The Chadli Selma Paysage project is a medieval-inspired landscape illustration. The artist, Chadli Selma, has created a charming, hand-drawn scene depicting a quaint village nestled amidst rolling hills, forests, and a winding river.

The design features a mix of architectural styles common to medieval European towns, including half-timbered houses, stone towers, and an ornate castle in the distance. The landscape is populated with whimsical details like sheep grazing, flowers blooming, and fantastical creatures like a small dragon. The overall aesthetic conveys a sense of rustic tranquility and timeless charm. Chadli Selma has skillfully blended realistic elements with touches of fantasy, creating a visually engaging composition that transports the viewer to a bygone era.

The color palette consists primarily of earthy tones of green, brown, and gray, punctuated by pops of vibrant color in the flora and fauna. This helps to establish a cohesive, atmospheric feel that is characteristic of medieval landscape paintings and illustrations. Through this project, Chadli Selma has demonstrated their talent for crafting detailed, imaginative scenes that evoke a strong sense of place and nostalgia. The medieval-inspired setting, coupled with the artist's distinctive illustrative style, makes for a delightful and immersive visual experience.

This image appears to be an advertisement for a Netflix series called "I'm Fat Why Not?". The image features a young woman with a defiant and questioning expression on her face, surrounded by pointing fingers. The text emphasizes that "Beauty exists in each of us, we just need to find and accept it for who we really are." This seems to be a campaign promoting body positivity and self-acceptance.

This video was also produced during my GEII program for a national robotics competition held in Cachan. For this challenge, we chose One Piece as the central theme for our robot design. The video captures the journey of creating a robot inspired by this popular anime, from the initial concept to the final demonstration at the competition. Through dynamic footage, including teamwork scenes and the robot in operation, it illustrates our dedication and creativity. The editing emphasizes the narrative of the competition, using engaging visuals and audio to convey the passion and effort behind this ambitious project.

This video was created during my time in the GEII program as part of a robotics competition. The project, named "Pokebot," was inspired by the Pokémon universe, blending technology and creativity. Alongside my colleagues, who appear in the video, we designed and built a robot that embodied this theme. The video showcases various stages of the project, including brainstorming, prototyping, and the robot in action. Smooth transitions, animations, and a carefully crafted narrative highlight the collaborative effort and technical expertise involved. The vibrant Pokémon theme adds a playful yet professional touch to this innovative project.

This video was made during my time in the MMI programme as part of a documentary project entitled "The under-representation of women in the world of numerics". The aim of this project, which I carried out with my classmates, was to promote the representation of women in the digital sector. My contributions included documentary research and video editing. Through smooth transitions, powerful animations and a carefully structured narrative, the video highlights the importance of gender diversity in the digital field, while showcasing the collaborative effort and dedication of the team. This project aims to raise awareness and inspire change by advocating for greater inclusivity and opportunities for women in technology.
